Handmade for Christmas

Hi everyone! Today I'm joining my Hero Arts friends for a blog hop featuring goodies from the Handmade for Christmas catalog. You should have arrived here by way of the sweet and talented Lucy Abrams. If you didn't, head on back to the Hero Arts blog to start from the very beginning.

For my card today, I decided to use one of my very favorite sets from the new catalog, Family and Friends.

I really have a thing for bottle brush trees, so this set was love at first sight for me! They are so much fun. Today I was inspired by this cool photo to create an entire little "forest" of them.

I worked on watercolor paper, and got out my paintbrush and water bottle while playing with colors inspired by the photo - Navy, Tide Pool, Forever Green and Neon Blue inks.

I love the little circles included in the set. They could be used as ornaments, but I added them randomly to the sky, to add a whimsical, bokeh-like look.

And now the fun part of the hop! Hero Arts will be giving away one GRAND PRIZE that includes an assortment of stamps, inks, stencils and dies valued at over $75. Two $10 Hero Arts Online Store gift cards will also be awarded. The three prize winners will be randomly selected from all comments received on the participating designers' blogs, so the more comments left along the hop, the better their odds of winning! The giveaways will close at 11:59pm PST on Thursday, Oct 2, with the winners announced on the Hero Arts blog on Friday, Oct 3.

To continue with the hop, please head over to Yana Smakula's blog!
